ASET Produces Timeline

ASET has completed its timeline for the upcoming year. We are at a critical juncture in our efforts to bring safety and productivity to trucking legislation. The congressional highway reauthorization hearings have begun and the final vote on the highway bill will take place sometime in 2003. The ASET timeline includes meetings, events, hearings, and other pertinent information to help those interested in the ASET objective gain a better understanding of where we are headed and what the strategy for success will be.

Kiplinger Article Extremely Positive

The Kiplinger Washington Editors reported in an article this summer that the weight legislation ASET has been lobbying in favor for could come to fruition in the near future. The article was very positive and predicted that we will be ultimately successful when the highway reauthorization bill is complete next year. The article was quoted as saying, “Odds are that the next federal highway bill will, in just over a year from now, give the green light for states to increase the maximum weight of truck tractor-trailer rigs permitted on U.S. highways.”
